This is a complete kit with a 6" mounting rail and 18" Extension Hook.  The Hook extends away from the deck railing about 15 inches.  It is designed to be a very sturdy holder of anything you want to hang from your deck railing - either side of your railing!  Purchase 3 sets and space them on your railing for a beautiful look of hanging baskets or bird feeding options!   Even Wind Chimes!  Holds up to 15 lbs  Fits VERTICAL railing spindles that are built to code...which allows a 4" open space between the spindles.  Connects to a wide variety of spindles with our included hardware kits - no further tools needed.  From 1/2" to 1 3/4" spindle widths.  Wrought Iron is usually 1/2", Aluminum typically 3/4", PVC/Vinyl and Trex style are typically 1" -1 1/4" and finally wood can be 1 1/4" to 1 3/4"  - Simply use the bolt that is just a little longer than the thickness of the spindle...easy to find out which bolt to use by holding the bolts up against your spindles.   We offer 2 hook types Upright and Extension - see images for how they may look on your railing and their measurements.  If you want to SEE your feeder, choose the Upright models, the taller your feeder - the more you may want the 34".  If you simply want to extend the hook out from your railing - choose the 32" hook kit.  27" Upright 34" Upright 32" Extension    Hold It Mate Mounting rail (included with the kits) and accessories are made of powder coated steel and stainless steel hardware for a long life.   The only tool you need is an Allen wrench, and that is included. The best bracket kit to fit the widest variety of boxes!  Will hold a box that is 5 1/2" to 8 1/2" wide at the bottom (Measure front to back).  Choose between our new 16", 20" or 24" Option based on your planter box size.  Up to 24" Box for 16" and up to 36" for a 24" kit.  Fits round, square, aluminum, wood, PVC, wrought iron, recycled vertical spindles that are no further than 5" apart and are a 1/2" to 1 3/4" thick.  Code for the gap between spindles in the US is typically less than 4" - to which our systems were designed.   Measure before you order.   The mounting rail is the same Hold It Mate rail used for every other accessory and connects easily with the included Allen wrench in minutes and the shelf brackets just snap into place.  Once this is done, simply snap on the brackets, loosen the wing nuts on the bottom, drop your planted box on the brackets, then slide the brackets up snug to the box and tighten the wing nuts. By Popular Demand, we are excited to bring to our customers - The Hold It Mate Flag Pole Kit!  Will hold sleeved flags up to 30" wide or grommeted flags of 24" or 30".  Folds down when not in use.   Everything you need to hang a flag from your deck railing is included.  Connects perfectly to vertical spindles only - as all Hold It Mate products are.  Fits a wide range of spindle varieties from Wrought Iron, Aluminum (round or square), PVC/Vinyl, Trex Recycled varieties as well as wood!  1/2" to 1 3/4" thick spindles.   As are all Hold It Mate products, the flag kit is not permanent, but it is very secure when installed.  Mounts are fixed at 19.5" apart when installed - meaning you need at least that to mount the system. Most spindles are at least 30" long.   Follow the directions of setting up the first parts on your table or floor - the rest will come together far easier!!
